Who Are You?

How do you recognise discrimination?

More recent events in my life have caused me to re-think why I find myself in my current predicament. What am I doing with my life? Who am I? Stuck on a perpetual roller-coaster, I spin around, get flipped upside down, and pulled back up again through a daily slog of trying to find a meaningful existence.

It appears that the system is definitely against me.

As I complete endless job applications with my qualifications, who I’ve worked for, my age, marital status and number of children, I am confronted by a page of simply outrageous enquiries.

Sometimes it’s sixteen pages, sometimes it’s only thirteen. Before I sign and send my latest thesis length application, even for a minimum-wage-part-time job, I must answer some excessively probing questions.

These are designed to avoid discrimination, according to the U.K. government. Strangely, they seem to highlight the very things that once were supposed to be left out for fear of… discrimination.

1)      What is your Sexual Orientation?

Are you = Lesbian/Gay, Heterosexual, Bisexual or Rather not say?

2)      What is your Religion/Religious Affiliation or Rather not say?

3)      Please describe your Ethnicity/Ethnic OriginYou should put a tick against the one you feel you belong to.

WHITE = English/Welsh/Scottish/Northern Irish British or Irish or Gypsy or Irish Traveller or OTHER WHITE?

MIXED = White and Black Caribbean or White and Black African, or White and Asian or OTHER MIXED?

ASIAN OR ASIAN BRITISH = Indian or Pakistani or Bangladeshi or Chinese or OTHER ASIAN?

BLACK OR BLACK BRITISH = Caribbean, African, OTHER BLACK?

OTHER ETHNIC GROUP = Arab or OTHER ETHNIC GROUP or prefer not to say?

Armed robberies these days seem to mirror, or even presage, their mythical Hollywood effigies. Stealing with style seems to be the in-thing. Forget being a handy cracker with a stethoscope and immovable cast iron safe.

If you know how to open a Swiss Fokker 100 Airliner cargo hatch door, in just a few seconds, you could be rolling in it. This is what the Belgium police discovered earlier this week, when a highly-trained professional gang took just three minutes to hold up a Swiss passenger jet, before escaping into the night with $50 million worth of diamonds.

“Belgian police were baffled by a robbery that took place with precision, military timing and apparent insider knowledge, allowing the gang to aim for the delivery of a diamond consignment within a 15-minute time window. Wearing masks, hooded police anoraks and armed with machine guns equipped with laser sights, the robbers struck just before the aircraft was cleared for take-off."

They broke through Brussels’ airport perimeter fence, using a Mercedes and an Audi, around 20 minutes before the Helvetic Airways plane, bound for Zurich, was due to take off. They made a high-speed exit out the same hole they came in through, disappearing into the night. Because many of the diamonds were uncut, the chance of recovering them is slim.

You have to admire the audacity of these guys, pulling off a heist of this magnitude in a time-slot shorter than a cigarette break. Of course, stealing is wrong, but then, who isn’t stealing something somewhere everyday… the corporations, the elite bankers, the meat industry, and not forgetting our own government.

My dire financial straits have me thinking that maybe I should take a course in aircraft engineering, or hydraulic-seal manufacturing. You never know when something like that might come in handy!

If there are any rough diamonds out there going spare, well you know…

Rag and Bone Men

What do Popes, horses, and bones, all have in common I wonder? On February 11th Pope Benedict XVI announced his resignation, the first pope to do so in 600 years. Of course, it had nothing to do with any stolen private papers by an ex-secretary.
According to various researchers studying the ‘Prophesy of the Popes’, he is the last-but-one Pope ‘til the end of the world, ‘when the city on seven hills will be destroyed, and the terrible judge will judge his people’.

Ireland’s St Malachy, so we are told, prophesized that the last Pope to be appointed, before the great and dreadful day of the Lord, would be called ‘Petrus Romanus’. It’s interesting to note that two out of various contenders just happen to have Peter (Petrus) as a name. The Vatican is well-aware of the prophesy.

What fun the doomsayers will have with this one!
Talking of prophesy, February 11th is also the anniversary of the day in 1858 that a young Bernadette Soubirous witnessed an apparition of the Virgin Mary who said, “Go drink in the spring and wash in its waters.”

In obedience Bernadette dug the ground with her hands and a previously unknown spring of water gushed out, becoming the largest Catholic pilgrimage shrine in Europe, at the small Pyrenees town of Lourdes, France.

The Vatican is quite versed in understanding prophesy, as Pope Benedict XVI explains in his writings on other famous ‘Marian visions’, such as those at Fatima, Portugal, on which he reviews the ‘Third Secret of Fatima’.
February 11th is the birth date of Elizabeth of York (1465), that’s King Richard III (Bones in the car park fame – Shakespeare’s ‘A horse, a horse, my Kingdom for a horse’) niece, and Pope Gregory III election to the seat in 731. He’s the Pope responsible for outlawing Hippophagy (the eating of horse meat). According to Wilson’s Almanac, it’s also Alex Jones birthday.

Keeping it topical, the latest controversy to adorn cinema screens is the Hollywood propaganda film, Zero Dark Thirty. The word zero comes via the French zero, from the Venetian zero, which (together with cipher) comes via the Italian zefiro, from the Arabic ṣafira = "it was empty", ṣifr = "zero", "nothing". This was a translation of the Sanskrit word shoonya, meaning "empty".

Thirty is a square pyramidal number, and a double star in the constellation Pegasus. According to legend, everywhere the Ancient Greek Horse-God Pegasus struck his hoof to the earth, an inspiring spring burst forth.
Carl Jung and his followers have seen in Pegasus a profound symbolic esoteric in relation to the spiritual energy that allows access to the realm of the Gods of Olympus. (Wiki)

The Thirtieth Degree of the Southern Jurisdiction of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry in Canada was known as Knight Kadosh. The term ‘Kadosh’is derived from the Hebrew word "קדוש", which means holy or consecrated. (Wiki)

What does all this translate to? A dark empty pit, or spring run dry, poisoned by the unclean practices of others? Defiling the sacred? A dark period of time that is about to befall the planet, destroying the human spirit? It could mean anything depending on your synchromystic leanings.

A final note… Pope, the horse (1806 – 29 August 1831), also known as Waxy Pope, was a thoroughbred racehorse that won the 1809 Epsom Derby, and was a leading sire in Ireland. Pope died on 29 August 1831 at a place called Clearwell!

African Queen Rocks the Kasbah Boat

The recent news of the abdication of the Queen of the Netherlands prompted me to recall an old blog post of my meeting with Willem-Alexander, Prince of Orange, heir to the throne of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (and his mother Queen Beatrix 60% share in Royal Dutch Shell).
From the news we read that, “Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, the oldest reigning Dutch monarch, announced her abdication on Monday evening in a sudden move three days before her 75th birthday. After 33 years on the throne Beatrix said she would relinquish the crown at the end of April. The abdication secures the Dutch throne for Crown-Prince Willem-Alexander at the age of 45.”

I read about the vast wealth that the continent has afforded to the Netherlands, and the many kingdoms that came before it. I wondered if there is some connection between the tragedies befalling the clan and the reasons behind her abdication. The unassuming Prince (as he was) and the power and riches he is about to inherit, along with the Bilderberg pass.

Really quickly I came across a nice picture, courtesy of Ashlee Buczek, of the African Queen in Mali. So, like all ‘there’s no such thing as coincidence’ mantras, North Africa suddenly appeared to sway to the synchronistic beat. After the recent Mali interventions, and the Algerian hostage crisis, I wonder if the Queen has decided to jump ship.

999 42 Apophis Calling!

Every week it seems the end of the world will be upon us soon. The latest fear mongering reports are wonderfully synchromystic in their intent.

The near-Earth asteroid 99942 Apophis was discovered on June 19, 2004, by Roy A. Tucker, David J. Tholen and Fabrizio Bernardi at the Kitt Peak National Observatory.

When first discovered, the object received the provisional designation 2004 MN4, and news and scientific articles referred to it by that name.

When its orbit was sufficiently well calculated, it received the permanent number 99942 (on June 24, 2005). Receiving a permanent number made it eligible for naming. It received the name "Apophis" on July 19, 2005.

The Serpent is killed
Apophis is the Greek name of an enemy of the Ancient Egyptian sun-god Ra: Apep, the Uncreator, an evil serpent that dwells in the eternal darkness of the Duat and tries to swallow Ra during his nightly passage. Apep is held at bay by Set, the Ancient Egyptian god of storms and the desert. David J. Tholen and Tucker—two of the co-discoverers of the asteroid—are reportedly fans of the TV series Stargate SG-1. One of the show's persistent villains is an alien named Apophis. (wikipedia)

Apep or Apophis was an evil god in ancient Egyptian religion, the deification of darkness and chaos, and thus opponent of light and Ma’at (order/truth).

In Gods and Myths of Ancient Egypt, we read that the Egyptian god of destruction Apophis, like Seth, was associated with various frightening natural events such as unexplained darkness from a solar eclipse, storms, and earthquakes.

Way-to-go guys – great name!

From Sky News: Astronomers following the so-called "doomsday" asteroid Apophis which could collide with Earth have discovered it is 20% bigger than previously thought. Previous estimates put the asteroid's average diameter at 270 metres (877 feet) representing a mass that would equal the energy release of a 506-megatonne bomb, according to Nasa figures.

The European Space Agency (ESA) said its Herschel telescope had scanned the space rock as it headed towards its closest fly-by with the planet in years on Wednesday. In a two-hour observation, Herschel returned a diameter of 325 metres (1,056 feet), with a range of 15 metres (48.75 feet) either way, the ESA said.

"The 20% increase in diameter, from 270m to 325m translates into a 75% increase in our estimates of the asteroid's volume or mass," said Thomas Mueller, of the Max Planck Institute for Extra-terrestrial Physics in Garching, Germany, who led the data analysis.

Apophis sparked a scare when it was first detected in 2004. Early calculations suggested a 2.7% chance of the space rock hitting Earth in 2029 - the highest ever for an asteroid, but the risk was swiftly downgraded after further observations. It is expected to pass even closer to the planet on April 13, 2036, according to Nasa’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California.

The object is being tracked by astronomers to help them fine tune the 2029 and 2036 risks of a collision. Herschel, using thermal sensors, also found that Apophis is darker than previously thought, the ESA added. Only 23% of light that falls on it is reflected, and the rest is absorbed by the asteroid. Previous estimates of this reflectivity, known as albedo, were put at around 33%.

This discovery is important because asteroids experience something called the Yarkovsky effect, or an increase in thrust that comes from alternate heating and cooling as the rock slowly turns in space. Over time, this momentum can change the body's trajectory as it moves through the Solar System.

On 15th February there will be another close fly-by of an asteroid but nothing to worry about, that one doesn’t have a name, just a number: 2012 DA14
